Acetyl-L-Carnitine (ALC) is a modified amino acid that supports cellular energy production by assisting in the transport of fat into the mitochondria where it is converted into ATP (cellular fuel). ALC is a highly bioavailable form of L-Carnitine that can cross the blood-brain barrier, where it helps to manage oxidative damage, supports mitochondrial function and helps to maintain normal neurotransmitter activity. Clinical studies suggest that ALC helps to maintain optimal neurological health.

DIRECTIONS

Adult Dosage: Take one capsule 3 times daily with meals.

Non-Medicinal Ingredients: Veg Capsule (hypromellose, water), Magnesium Stearate (vegetable source), Stearic Acid (vegetable source).

RISK INFORMATION

Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have a primary systemic L-carnitine deficiency or secondary L-carnitine deficiency (inborn errors in metabolism) for which levocarnitine supplementation is prescribed and/or monitored by a healthcare practitioner. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have liver or kidney disease, if you have had a seizure, if you have hypothyroidism, or if you take blood thinners. Agitation, nausea, headache and vomiting have been known to occur, in which case discontinue use. Mild gastrointestinal symptoms (abdominal cramps and diarrhea) have been reported. Feelings of sleeplessness or overstimulation may occur, discontinue use if feelings persist or worsen. Low incidences of seizures have been reported with oral doses in individuals with or without pre-existing seizure disorders.
