Fiber is an essential part of a healthy diet. However, the average daily intake of fiber is only about half of the recommended intake of 30-35 g per day. Soluble fiber is not digestible by enzymes in the gastrointestinal system, but is instead fermented by healthy bacteria in the gut. Soluble fibers normally enhance gastrointestinal health, function and regularity, and increase satiety thus it indirectly supports healthy blood sugar balance and cardiovascular health. A low intake of dietary fiber has been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.

USES

Helps to improve intestinal regularity. Provides a gentle relief of constipation. Helps to improve bowel regularity in people with irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Helps to relieve minor gastrointestinal symptoms discomfort in people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) including flatulency, bloating, dyspepsia and altered bowel habits. Helps to improve intestinal regularity in children. Provides a gentle relief of constipation in children. Helps  to modulate stool conditions (from either loose or hard) to normal conditions. Helps to reduce the need for laxative use. Helps reduce incidents of diarrhea. Helps to reduce glycemic response and glycemic index when taken with food.

Adult Dosage

Take one to two scoops daily, children over nine take one scoop daily. Take two hours before or after taking other medications, or as directed by a qualified health care practitioner. For each scoop, mix with 200 ml of liquid (water, milk, fruit juice or similar aqueous beverage). Stir briskly and drink immediately. Maintain adequate fluid intake.

Cautions

Consult a health care practitioner prior to use, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you are taking medications which inhibit peristaltic movement (e.g. opioids, loperamide), or if you are experiencing any of the following; sudden change in bowel habits that have persisted for more than two weeks, undiagnosed rectal bleeding, failure to defecate following the use of laxative products, diabetes mellitus in which blood sugar is difficult to regulate, or symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or fever. If symptoms worsen or if laxative effect does not occur within seven days, consult a health care practitioner.
