Mentha × piperita is the species employed for New Roots Herbal’s 100% pure peppermint oil, which includes menthol, its primary active constituent.

Peppermint is a calmative used to soothe the nerves and lower incidences of involuntary muscle spasms. It provides symptomatic relief of digestive discomfort associated with flatulence. In aromatherapy, peppermint is used to help reduce muscle and joint pains related to rheumatoid arthritis and sprains. In addition, it is used to ease coughs and cold symptoms including headaches.

Try rubbing a few drops on the back of your neck, temple, and soles of your feet. Alternatively, add a few drops onto a cold compress and place over your forehead to help with your symptoms.
