St. John’s Wort Extract 60 Capsules

A perennial flowering plant native to western Asia and Europe, St. John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum) is rich in history for a broad range of folkloric uses. Its contemporary therapeutic niche is to calm restlessness and nervousness.

The bright yellow flowers of St. John’s wort contain a naturally occurring compound called hypericin. This compound is believed to affect neurotransmitters within the central nervous system and be beneficial for mood. New Roots Herbal’s St.John’s Wort is a full-spectrum 8:1 extract.

HOW TO USE - Adults: Take 1 capsule three times daily or as directed by your health-care practitioner.

DURATION OF USE :  Use for a minimum of 1 week to see beneficial effects. Consult a health-care practitioner for use beyond 18 weeks.

CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS : Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, ultraviolet (UV) light, or UV therapy. Consult a health-care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen. Consult a health-care practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breast-feeding; or if you are taking antianxiety medications, seizure medications, antihistamines, bronchodilators, muscle relaxants, and/or opiates.

CONTRAINDICATIONS : Do not use if you are taking anticancer medications, blood thinners, antidepressant medications (e.g. selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors [SSRI]), anti-HIV agents, cardiovascular medications, immunosuppressants, and/or contraceptive medications.

KNOWN ADVERSE REACTIONS : Hypersensitivity, such as an allergy, has been known to occur; in which case, discontinue use. Some people may experience mild gastrointestinal disturbances, nausea, restlessness and/or headaches.

OTHER INGREDIENTS : Vegetable magnesium stearate in a non‑GMO vegetable capsule composed of vegetable carbohydrate gum and purified water.
