We used to spend a lot more time outside, but for the majority of us, the nature of our modern lifestyles keeps us out of the sun. As a result of this, vitamin D deficiency is extremely common – studies show that 1 in 3 Canadians is deficient, and 2 in 3 have less than the recommended level. Vitamin D deficiency can manifest itself in symptoms like low immune function, fatigue, muscle weakness, mood imbalances and osteoporosis in older adults.

We choose D3 for our vitamin D supplements, because it’s the most natural form of vitamin D, and it’s easily absorbed in the body.

One softgel contains your daily dose of 2500IU of vitamin D3 in a base of organic coconut oil for enhanced absorption.

Ingredients

Each softgel contains

Vitamin D3

(cholecalciferol, from lanolin) Equivalent to 62.5mcg 2500IU

Non-Medicinal Ingredients : Organic virgin coconut oil (yielding 65-75% medium chain triglycerides)*, glycerin, purified water, bovine gelatin.

Recommended Use

Helps to prevent vitamin D deficiency.

Directions

Adults: Take one (1) softgel per day with an adequate intake of calcium or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.

Cautions & Warnings

As with any natural health product, you should consult a healthcare practitioner prior to use, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or if you have kidney disorders. Consult a healthcare practitioner if you take any prescription medications including antacids, anticonvulsants, digoxin, cholestyramine, colestipol, mineral oil, steroids, statins or thiazide diuretics, or if you take other vitamin D supplements, multivitamin supplements containing vitamin D, or products containing vitamin D analogues. 15-20 mcg (600-800 IU) of vitamin D per day is adequate for most individuals. Consult a healthcare practitioner to determine if you would benefit from additional vitamin D before taking this product. Do not use if seal is broken. Keep out of reach of children.

Known Adverse Reactions

Stop use and consult a healthcare practitioner if weakness, fatigue, drowsiness, headache, lack of appetite, dry mouth, metallic taste, nausea, vomiting, vertigo, ringing in the ears, lack of coordination and muscle weakness occur, which are early symptoms of hypercalcemia, or if you have any other side effects.

Contraindications

Do not use this product if you have hypercalcemia and/or hypercalciuria.
