Vitamin D3 2,500 IU (62.5 mcg) 360 Softgels

In response to requests from consumers, physicians, and industry professionals, Health Canada has increased the safe daily maximum dose of vitamin D for nutritional supplements to 2,500 IU (62.5 mcg) for those ages 9 and up. Vitamin D3 2,500 IU (62.5 mcg) helps prevent vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D intake, when combined with sufficient calcium, a healthy diet, and regular exercise, may reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis in people with vitamin D deficiency.

Recommended use

Recommended dose 

Adults:

Take 1 soft gel daily at mealtime. To be taken with an adequate intake of calcium. Consult a health care practitioner for use beyond 6 months.

Medicinal ingredients

Each soft gel contains:

Vitamin D (cholecalciferol) 62.5 mcg

Nonmedicinal ingredients

Gelatin, sunflower oil

Warnings

Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have kidney disorders, if you take other vitamin D supplements, multivitamin supplements containing Vitamin D, or products containing Vitamin D analogs, if you take any prescription medications including anticonvulsants, digoxin, cholestyramine, colestipol, mineral oil, steroids, statins or tiazide diuretics. 15 - 20 mcg (600 - 800 IU) of Vitamin D per day is adequate for most individuals. Consult a health care practitioner to determine if you would benefit from additional Vitamin D before using this product. Do not use this product if you have hypercalcemia or hypercalciuria. Stop use and consult a health care practitioner if weakness, fatigue, drowsiness, headache, lack of appetite, dry mouth, metallic taste, nausea, vomiting, vertigo, ringing in the ears, lack of coordination and muscle weakness occur which are early symptoms of hypercalcemia, or if you have any other side effects.
