Product Details

Ortho Iron Vegan is a vegan and lactoferrin-free version of Ortho Iron, AOR’s award-winning iron formula. It includes synergistic nutrients that are necessary for proper iron absorption, and is useful for treating symptoms of iron deficiency anemia. Ortho Iron Vegan is well tolerated, and doesn’t tend to cause the side effects common to iron supplements such as nausea or constipation.

Anemia is the most common blood disorder in the world and is characterized by a reduced number of red blood cells. There are several different types of anemia, including iron deficiency anemia which is a result of low iron levels, and pernicious anemia which is caused by vitamin B12 and folate deficiency. Regardless of cause, symptoms of anemia include debilitating fatigue, weakness and difficulty concentrating, all of which improve with treatment.

Adult Dosage

Take one capsule daily with food, or as directed by a qualified health care practitioner. Take a few hours before or after taking other medications.

Cautions

Taking a daily prenatal multi-vitamin mineral supplement along with this product may result in constipation, diarrhea, and/or vomiting due to the high intake of iron.

Stop use of Vitamin B6 products and ask a healthcare practitioner if you develop symptoms of sensory nerve problems, such as numbness, tingling, or pain in the extremities.*
