Sereniten Plus contains milk protein hydrolysate, which temporarily helps reduce symptoms of mild mental and physical stress. The milk protein hydrolysate, in the form of Lactium®, contains a bioactive decapeptide that has been clinically studied for reducing stress. During times of physical or mental stress, cortisol levels in the body rise as a defensive mechanism to protect the body. Although this is an adaptive mechanism, prolonged secretion of cortisol can have negative impacts on proper functioning, including reduced immune function and poor digestion. In participants subject to induced stress, one randomized control study found that alpha S1-casein hydrolysate, the active peptide of Lactium, decreased plasma cortisol levels and lowered heart rate compared to controls. Another study found that alpha S1-casein hydrolysate also improved feelings of well-being and digestion among stressed women.

Sereniten Plus also contains L-theanine and vitamin D. Vitamin D is a factor in sustaining good health and helps in the maintenance of bones and teeth.
