Medicinal ingredients

Each tablet contains:

Suntheanine® L-Theanine 100 mg

L-5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) (Griffonia simplicifolia) (seed) 15 mg

Melatonin (non-animal source) 1.5 mg

Non-medicinal Ingredients

Organic cane juice, purified stearic acid, xylitol, silica, tropical fruit flavour, citric acid, vegetable grade magnesium stearate (lubricant).

Recommended use

Helps increase the total sleep time (aspect of sleep quality) in people suffering from sleep restriction or an altered sleep schedule (e.g., shift-work and jet lag). Helps relieve the daytime fatigue associated with jet lag and reduce the time it takes to fall asleep (sleep onset latency aspect of sleep quality) in people with delayed sleep phase syndrome. Helps reset the body’s sleep-wake cycle (aspect of the circadian cycle). Helps to temporarily promote relaxation.

Recommended dose

Recommended adult dose: Chew 2 tablets daily, 30–45 minutes before bedtime, or as directed by a health care practitioner. 5-HTP can cause stomach sensitivity in some people. For this reason it is recommended that you do not take this product on an empty stomach. For use beyond 4 weeks, consult a health care practitioner.

Cautions

Consumption with alcohol, other medications or natural health products with sedative properties is not recommended. Consult a health care practitioner if sleeplessness persists continuously for more than 3 weeks (chronic insomnia) or if symptoms persist or worsen. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have asthma, cardiovascular disease, a hormonal disorder, diabetes or hypoglycemia, immune system disease, liver or chronic kidney disease, seizure disorders, migraine, depression, or if you are taking carbidopa or drugs/ supplements with serotonergic activity. These may include, but are not limited to L-tryptophan, S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe), St. John’s wort, antidepressants, pain killers, over-the-counter cough and/or cold medications containing dextromethorphan, anti-nausea or anti-migraine medications. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are taking any of the following medications: anticoagulant, anticonvulsant, blood pressure medications, immunosuppressive medications, sedative, hypnotic or psychotropic medications, or steroids. Some people may experience diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. Discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner if you show signs of weakness, oral ulcers, or abdominal pain accompanied by severe muscle pain, or if you experience skin changes. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have scleroderma. Do not drive or use machinery for 5 hours after taking this product and exercise caution if you are involved in activities requiring mental alertness. Some people may experience drowsiness. Mild gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, or cramping) and rare allergic reactions have been known to occur, in which case discontinue use. Keep out of the reach of children.
