New Roots Herbal Joyful contains 11 botanical extracts, amino acids, and bioactive forms of the vitamins pivotal for mood. The therapeutic goal of Joyful is twofold: to elevate mood and to strengthen resistance to triggers that generate stress.

Six of the nutrients in New Roots Herbal Joyful—5‑HTP, ʟ‑tryptophan, vitamin D3, methylfolate, methylcobalamin, and vitamin B6—collectively support serotonin production and neurotransmitter metabolism. The additional five constituents in Joyful—ʟ‑theanine, gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), magnolia, phellodendron, and san qi—reduce excitability within the nervous system to endorse a sense of calm.

Mood and stress are multifaceted health concerns dependent upon a mosaic of factors. New Roots Herbal Joyful delivers mood-specific nutrients that can help.

HOW TO USE - Adults : Take 1 capsule three times daily. Start with 1 capsule daily and gradually move to 3 daily, or as directed by your health-care practitioner. Use the lowest efficient dose.

DURATION OF USE : For healthy mood balance: Use for a minimum of 1 week to see beneficial effects. Consult a health-care practitioner for use beyond 4 weeks.

CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS : Do not use more than the recommend dose. Consult a health-care practitioner prior to use if you taking carbidopa or drugs/supplements with serotonergic activity—these may include, but are not limited to, ʟ‑tryptophan, S‑adenosylmethionine (SAMe), St. John’s wort, antidepressants, pain killers, over-the-counter cough and cold medication containing dextromethorphan, antinausea medication and antimigraine medication, and monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI). Serotonin syndrome is a serious side effect and a consequence of excess serotonin on the central and/or peripheral nervous systems. Discontinue use and consult a health-care practitioner if you develop at least three of the following symptoms related to serotonin syndrome: mental status changes (confusion, hypomania), agitation, myoclonus, hyperreflexia, diaphoresis, shivering, tremor, diarrhea, incoordination, and fever. Discontinue use and consult a health-care practitioner if you show signs of weakness, oral ulcer, or abdominal pain accompanied by severe muscle pain; or if you experience skin changes. Consult a health-care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen, or if new symptoms develop. Consult a health-care practitioner prior to use if you are taking medications for diabetes, high blood pressure, or seizures; if you are taking any other prescription medications; or if you have a hormone sensitive condition. Ensure that you are up-to-date on gynaecological exams prior to use of this product and during continued prolonged use. Do not use with alcohol. Do not use if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

CONTRAINDICATIONS : Do not use if you have scleroderma.

KNOWN ADVERSE REACTIONS: Some people may experience drowsiness. Exercise caution if operating heavy machinery, driving a motor vehicle, or being involved in activities requiring mental alertness. Some people may experience diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Hypersensitivity, such as an allergy, has been known to occur; in which case, discontinue use.

gamma-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) 200 mg
ʟ‑Theanine 83.33 mg
ʟ‑Tryptophan 73.333 mg
ʟ‑5‑Hydroxytryptophan (ʟ‑5‑HTP) (from Griffonia simplicifolia seed) 50 mg
San-qi ginseng (Panax notoginseng) leaf 15:1 extract 50 mg
Phellodendron (Phellodendron amurense) bark extract, 1% berberine 10 mg
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxal-5′‑phosphate) 10 mg
Magnolia (Magnolia officinalis) bark 50:1 extract, 80% honokiol + magnolol 5 mg
Folate (from calcium ʟ‑5‑methyltetrahydrofolate) 333 mcg
Vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin) 333 mcg
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) 8.33 mcg (333.3 IU)

OTHER INGREDIENTS : Microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable magnesium stearate, and silicon dioxide in a non‑GMO vegetable capsule composed of vegetable carbohydrate gum and purified water.
